Our Story

The Baja Trader was born out of a deep love for Mexico — its freedom, its breathtaking beauty, and the warmth of its people. Every time I visit, I fall in love all over again. In Mexico, there’s a freedom to live fully in the moment, surrounded by nature that astonishes — from ancient pyramids to gentle whale sharks. And there’s a love that’s hard to describe until you feel it: people who welcome you with open arms, peaceful spirits, and a zest for life.

Though I was too young to remember, my mom always told me that we once lived in Mexicali. Maybe that’s why Mexico has always felt like home to me — a place I’m drawn back to again and again.

Why Blankets?

On every trip, I found myself wandering through small shops, running my hands over colorful, handwoven blankets. Each design was unique to its region, each pattern telling its own story. I loved them all — and often wished I could take every single one home. Those blankets became more than souvenirs; they became a way to carry a piece of Mexico’s spirit with me. That passion sparked The Baja Trader.
